The Grid
"The Grid" began as an idea that came from my time collecting in the field. I noticed that many plastic objects have an architectural structure. Back at the studio, I edited this collection into a more narrow color palette. I used yellow/orange, black and clear or opaque white colors. "The Grid" graphically demonstrates the ultility and the longetivity of plastics in the environment. The objects useful life, though long passed remain in the environment for years and years.
‘Found in Nature’ is a series of beautiful compositions that tell compelling stories about beach-trash. Barry collects previously discarded junk along the coastal areas of New York Harbor then curates and orders the objects by color, type and/or theme.
